Allergens and harmful substances

Our homes are our "third skin" and, therefore, a major component for ensuring health, wellbeing and high living quality. Consequently, avoiding allergens and harmful substances in rooms is of particular importance and may be influenced substantially.

An allergen is a substance triggering hypersensitivity reactions via the immune system. Most widely known indoor allergens are dust mite faeces, fungal spores, animal hair, pollen (mostly brought in from outside) and certain chemicals such as isocyanates.

"Harmful indoor substances" in the broader sense are all substances and other factors that may impair occupants' wellbeing and health. Comfort ventilation (mechanical ventilation) systems reduce allergens and harmful substances through regular air exchange and outside air filtering.
